Wednesday 3 May 2023 Library Refurbishment With huge thanks to FOTCS we have been able to purchase new book storage units and soft furnishings to make our library area an exciting and inviting space. We have also purchased better storage for reading books which the children have enjoyed sitting on to select their new books!

Friday 28 April 2023 Matilda Theatre Trip 30 very excited children boarded the coach at 3pm and 30 very exhausted children got collected at 1am! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the show and said it was an amazing experience!

Thursday 2 March 2023 World Book Day 2023 We had a fantastic day on Thursday 2 March celebrating World Book Day with our theme of 'Relax and Read', focussing on the positive impact of reading on a child's mental health and well-being. The children and staff came to school dressed in their comfiest PJs and enjoyed visiting each other's classes to share our love of books!

Friday 3 February 2023 School Council & Parish Council Joint Meeting Our School Council met with the Parish Council where they discussed important matters suggested by the rest of the school, such as new equipment at the park and difficulties crossing the main road. The children behaved impeccably and took a very active part in the meeting. They were also very excited about the biscuits!

Friday 3 February 2023 NSPCC Number Day We have had a super Number Day today. Lots of number puzzles, maths through stories and even maths riddles. The children looked amazing dressed as digits - and even the staff took part! We raised £195 for the NSPCC - well done everyone!

Friday 20 January 2023 Musical Instruments With the fundraising support of Friends of The Croft School, we have purchased a range of new instruments to enhance our music curriculum across the school.

Tuesday 10 January 2023 Young Voices Concert We had a wonderful time at the Young Voices concert in Birmingham, singing with 25,000 children in a humungous choir!

Thursday 15 December 2022 Christmas lunch and Christmas jumper day. It was so lovely to see so many Christmas jumpers today. We all enjoyed a delicious Christmas lunch too. A big thank you to our wonderful catering staff.

Wednesday 14 December 2022 Christmas book tree A huge thank you to anyone who has purchased a book from our Christmas book tree. The children have enjoyed bringing them into school for their classes and we have loved sharing them at story time.

Tuesday 13 December 2022 Bethlehem's gone barmy! We are so proud of Hedgehog and Fox class for their fantastic production of Bethlehem's gone barmy! Your singing and performing was brilliant. Well done.

Thursday 1 December 2022 He's behind you! A huge thank you to the Friends of the Croft School who paid for a pantomime to visit for our children. We all had a lovely afternoon.

Wednesday 30 November 2022 KS2 Rugby Tournament Well done to our three teams who went to the Atlas rugby tournament today. We were very proud of the new skills you learnt and also how well you represented the school. Congratulations to the Y3/Y4 team who were awarded with a bronze medal!

Wednesday 19 October 2022 KS2 Inter School Football Tournament A huge well done to our two KS2 football teams who played fantastically in the tournament today.

Wednesday 12 October 2022 Author Wall Our Author wall in the library has been updated so that it reflects our Autumn term global theme of 'Identity and Diversity'. We are encouraging the children to 'see themselves' in books. We have had two special assemblies and the children particularly enjoyed the story Whiff.

Tuesday 11 October 2022 Carducci Quartet This week we were extremely lucky to see some live music from the Carducci Quartet. They were so talented and told us all about their instruments. One of the children’s favourite pieces was ”The Joke” by Haydn. The piece was very clever and tricked the audience into clapping at the wrong time.

Thursday 15 September 2022 Remembering the Queen We have spent time this week remembering what a wonderful resilient, compassionate and responsible the Queen truly was. We thank her for her service to our Nation and Commonwealth.

Wednesday 30 March 2022 Celebration Afternoon We invited our parents to come into school so we could show them our classroom and all of our books. We also took them down to the Nature Area to look at the batbox we had put up as part of our Enquiry. We had a collection to raise money for our batbox and also the bear sponsorship we were doing on our trip to The Wild Place. So many of our parents came and we all had a lovely time showing off our work to them!

Thursday 17 March 2022 Red Nose Day Red Nose Day showed how the pupils of The Croft School are compassionate. We raised £270 to help children around the world. We all wore something red with our school uniforms.
